ISLINGTON HOTEL FREE STAY FOR YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIEND ( A$2500 VALUE )

April 3, 2017

It’s a happy clash between up-market hotel suite and homely B and B bedroom, where contemporary chic meets the Renaissance and the definition of Hobart.

There is something about the Islington Hotel that makes us want to stay in, by the fire, with a tea cup in hand, for the rest of winter. It’s so deliciously homely we’re resisting every temptation to move in permanently. Is it the deep mauve colour palette, the strategically available chess board, the sense of complete privacy, the careful play on light or the relationship between in and out door – we don’t know and it doesn’t really matter because the love affair is already well evolved.

There are so many fancy hotels in Australia: Hilton, Mantra, Ovolo, Novotel, Sofitel, Accor… these luxury chained hotels are like Superman, Batman, Ryan Gosling, Tom Cruise, you will (have to) see them once a year with your friends, lovers, family, bffs, bbfs,  just to satisfy your own needs or theirs, but once a while or once a life time, you have to try something different, aka The Gift? or Knock Knock? Just like Islington Hotel Hobart, when u read about it before you going in, you be like “yeah yeah yeah, oh one another luxury boutique hotel.” but once you left, the memories does stand out from all others…  So team Bloggers Boyfriend experienced this most luxury and historic boutique hotel in Hobart recently,  where Tasmania experience just feels as good as the movie GIFT, without the creepy parts of course. or maybe you can add that when you playing games in that crunchy floored long-hall in the lobby.

There are not many exciting places like Cataract Gorge Reserve in Launceston, but this place may take forever to go through to experience. e.g. Its swimming pool like Bondi Iceburg, cafe and relaxing park, rugged mountain and walking tracks, so pretty much take the whole day for the family to experience them all.

So here, we give you five reasons to travel to Tasmania by visiting the top five places in Hobart!

At first we thought we were lost but then we realised that we were not lost at all! We found the place where we need to be. As we were venturing our way to Mt Wellington we randomly found ourselves in a beautiful open field near Hall Street. Hobart is not a place that’s lost or forgotten, but instead it’s filled with adventures and new discoveries.

ISLINGTON HOTEL INFINITY FOUNTAIN

But first things first, drop your bags at the famous Islington Hotel Hobart. As we still could admire the views of Mount Wellington from the luxe hotel, check out the stylish furnished rooms, their large green gardens, the vegetables and their grown fruits in their hotel backyards. When you are feeling like you just need to take a moment to relax, especially if you are jet-lagged from your travels then enjoy their bubble baths and Aesop Skincare included in the bathroom to cater your luxurious experience. So now you are calmed and pampered let’s go on and continue the adventure in this amazing city called Hobart!

salamanca market MOUNTAIN VIEW

The best things in life are free. A favourite amongst the locals, the Salamanca Market is a must visiting hotspot on Saturday mornings. Jump from stall to stall and be oared by artisan jewellery, clothing, vintage pieces, handmade items, pottery, plants and flowers. Perhaps one that everyone looks forward to is the food. Hobart is known for their eccentric tastings with fresh local produce along with delicious coffee and brunch. Facing the Hobart waterfront are one-of-a-kind sandstone warehouses at the Salamanca Place which is known as one of Tasmania’s well-known landmarks.

MONA MUSEUM

If you didn’t come to Mona, you didn’t come to Hobart -end of story.

Located within the Moorilla winery, MONA(Musuem of Old and New Art) is not just the best of Hobart but it is the best of Australia. From the antiques to contemporary- it would definitely like being a kid at the candy store for any art lover. Trust us when we say that it would be an unforgettable experience where you will take with you more knowledge as well as memories. If you are unsure about your travel plans then MONA might have the answers to your worries so make sure you check out MONA Pavilions.

CORNELIAN BAY

CORNELIAN BAY Boathouse is one of those hidden places that only the locals know about. Joshua brought me here because I couldn’t stand missing out on a chance to capture beautiful photography as all the surrounding houses sit on the water with waterfront views and are painted in different colours. It is the perfect place for an afternoon run around the water.

If you are looking for five senses dark horse, here is the place to be in Launceston. This cafe is famous for its serious coffee business and cosiness. Interior is featured by black and bright yellow colour only (even their coffee mugs and dishes are black and yellow only too).  A main illustration on the wall saying “You Can Do it” — by Coffee. The place is small but all spaces are all well designed and looks very comfy. The pastries are very popular too if you want to chill in their outdoor area enjoy some rare Tassie sunlight.

HOBART, ISLINGTON HOTEL & TRIWA STOCKHOLM

August 21, 2015

When travelling to another place, it’s a new adventure and kind of a fresh start for a that period of time.
Like for Sunshine coast, it is nothing but the peaceful salty wind and forever lasting pounding sounds of the ocean waves; for upper north Queensland, it is the forever summer rain scent from the grasses and bats covered pinky sky sunset; for Melbourne, it is the forever roasted coffee scent from hidden lane ways; and for Hobart, it is the stark and rugged landscapes, diverse architectures and inquisitive people. So here I am, to fall in love with Hobart for a week or two…
